8 Awesome Kitchen Cleaning Hacks

The kitchen is one the busiest places in the home, and also one of the dirtiest. We prepare several meals a day, along with snacks, so it is not uncommon to see crumbs on the floor or stains on the counter. Since the kitchen is considered the heart of the home, homeowners can benefit from learning a few kitchen cleaning hacks. Below are a few tips to help you keep your kitchen clean, no matter how many messes you make!

1. Microwave Super Hack

The microwave can be one of the messiest cooking appliances in the kitchen. To clean it, take a small bowl and fill with hot water and a ¼ cup of white vinegar. Cook for three minutes or so in the microwave. Now use the solution to wipe down the inside of the microwave.

2. Polish Stainless Steel Appliances

If you have a stainless steel refrigerator or other appliances, such a stove or oven, simply polish them with Pledge.

3. Blender Hack

Blenders are no longer a pain to clean. After you use the blender, take the pitcher straight to the sink. Put in a little water and a drop of dish soap, and put it back in the blender. Then, turn it on for 20 seconds. Rinse and you’re all done.

4. Greasy Stove Grates

Remove dirty stove grates once and for all. Soak the grates overnight in a little ammonia to make them shine like new again. Just don’t mix the ammonia with other cleaners.

5. Dusty Countertops and Appliances

Use cooking oil or mineral oil to remove sticky kitchen dust and residue. Just a little dash of oil on a paper towel will work. Then, finish with some dish soap and water to remove the oil.

6. Coffee Cup Stains

Scrub your coffee-stained cups and mugs with equal parts vinegar and salt. It’s even safe for china cups.

7. Wooden Cutting Boards

Wooden cutting boards can be very difficult to clean thoroughly. Instantly de-grease and disinfect your cutting board with half a lemon, a pinch of salt, and several drops of water.

8. Garbage Disposal Cleaning Tip

If you have a garbage disposal, be sure to clean it regularly. You can use an old toothbrush to remove any stuck on food. Make sure you get down into the splash guard as well. You can also run lemons and ice through the disposal to freshen it up a little.

These are just a few tips that you can use to clean your kitchen quickly and efficiently. Add a few to your cleaning regimen to see how clean your home can be.
