PANTONE 18-3838 Ultra Violet is a vibrant purple shade reminiscent of celestial bodies. It evokes a sense of awareness about what’s to come and inspires inventiveness and imagination. A deep purple, Ultra Violet is often used in meditation spaces to promote rejuvenation, as well as gathering places to encourage connection.

Energize Your Kitchen

Ultra Violet undoubtedly makes a bold statement, making it easy to turn a white or gray-washed kitchen into an inviting space. Plus, the Pantone Color of the Year sparks creativity – a must when cooking. Because Ultra Violet is such a vibrant color, consider using it as the secondary or accent color in your kitchen.

For instance, paint your kitchen island Ultra Violet, while keeping the other cabinetry a soft neutral color. If you’re feeling a bit daring, consider creating an accent wall with this bright purple hue. Ultra Violet tiles can also add a pop of color to your kitchen backsplash without overwhelming your kitchen.

Create a Calming Bathroom Retreat

Shades of purple have long been used in bathrooms to promote a soothing environment. And, if you’ve yet to jump on the bandwagon, now’s your chance.

It’s important to note that Ultra Violet can quickly overpower small spaces. So, if you have a small bathroom with little to no natural lighting, use the Pantone Color of the Year sparingly. Apply it to just one wall or to the ceiling, or purchase bath towels and accessories in this vibrant hue. When you’re redoing your master bath, you might be able to get away with covering every inch of the walls in this rich purple. If you go this route, make sure to mix in lots of neutral colors, like bright whites, to offset the visually stimulating hue.

Improve Your Curb Appeal

While you may not want to or you are unable to paint your entire siding Ultra Violet due to your HOA, you may be able to accent your home with pops of color. For instance, painting your entry door with the Pantone Color of the Year creates a regal focal point. Not to mention, it’s a refreshing alternative to tired red.

Ultra Violet shutters are also a popular option for neutral-color homes. When applied to window and door trims, this vibrant hue adds instant contrast to improve your home’s curb appeal. Look for purple planters and other lawn accessories to compliment your new color scheme.
