As we continue to navigate these uncharted waters, we have remained operational and fully staffed the entire time. Thank you to all our customers for their cooperation and understanding. Also, we thank our dedicated employees for continuing to work through this difficult situation. Friel remains committed to serving our customers as conveniently as possible while keeping you and our staff as safe as possible.
We have in place the following procedures to protect our staff and customers.
- Our entire store, office areas, and Lumber Company Center have been professionally disinfected and treated to minimize the opportunity for virus growth.
- Face masks are required when entering the store per state mandate.
- We will maintain our regular operating hours at our Queenstown location. We will limit the number of customers in our store to the recommended total of 10 at any one time. You can assist us by calling your orders ahead of time. We will have hardware items ready for curbside pickup and paperwork
- ready for yard materials pickup. Please allow adequate time for us to
- process your order.
- We have re-opened our Lumber Company Center Showroom in Chester as of May 4th
- with the following restrictions.
- All customers are required to wear a face mask while visiting the showroom.
- We will be limiting the number of people allowed in the showroom at one time to allow for Social Distancing. It is advised that customers schedule an appointment in advance so that we may assure Social Distancing without the need for a wait.

- We ask that customers utilize phone, email, or fax to place orders and for general communication whenever possible. Virtual meetings can be set up in place of face to face meetings with our sales staff. Please contact your assigned salesperson or ask for our sales department.
- Our salespeople will not enter an occupied residence at this time. We will continue offering our regular services for un-occupied new construction job sites as long as safe distance guidelines can be followed.
- We are maintaining our normal delivery service with the following changes.
- Our minimum order for delivery has been reduced to $50.00. Please allow up to 48 hours for orders under our normal $250.00 minimum.
- Our delivery personnel will not enter an occupied residence. We will unload any weather-sensitive materials into your carport, garage, or covered porch.
- Please help maintain the same distance and contact restrictions with our yard personnel. We will gladly load your materials into your vehicle while you remain in your vehicle. If you prefer to pick out your own materials, our yard staff will direct you to the proper location but will not assist in loading if the proper distance cannot be maintained.
- You may occasionally be directed through our auto-attendant when calling in. If this happens please dial the extension you are looking for or dial 3 to ring Hardware and Lumber sales department.

Update: April 1st, 2020
At Friel, we remain committed to serving our customers as conveniently as possible while keeping you and our staff as safe as possible. Limiting contact and maintaining a safe distance from each other is currently the best practice to slow the spread of this virus. We fully support the actions of Governor Hogan and our state leaders have enacted. We are fortunate that although we have a few cases in our area, we have been spared the large number of cases others are experiencing across our country. Maintaining these safety mandates and suggestions is critical to keeping these numbers down going forward.

Update: March 30th, 2020
Governor Hogan announced new restrictions today that go into effect tonight at 8pm. This stay at home order does NOT change our status as an essential business.
- We are open normal business hours for hardware and building materials at our Queenstown location.
- We ask our customers to utilize phone and email for placing orders & general communication whenever possible.
- Delivery service will continue as usual and make every effort to maintain normal delivery lead times.
- Our Lumber Company Showroom in Chester is open by appointment only. Please call our main number 410-827-8811 to reach the design staff.

The supply chain continues to be impacted throughout our country effecting lead times and deliveries. Lead times are extended from several of our vendors for various reasons. Please anticipate longer lead times for the foreseeable future. We will do our best to communicate lead time changes and delays. Shortages remain limited to dust masks, paper products, and cleaning supplies related to sanitizing. Our remaining inventory is fully stocked.

The COVID-19 crisis has impacted our lives in ways no one thought possible just a few weeks ago. It changes every day and will impact our personal and business lives for the foreseeable future.
Yesterday, March 23rd, Governor Hogan announced new restrictions on business in our state.
Fortunately, these restrictions do NOT impact us as suppliers or you as contractors at this time.
